Tanzanian cocoa is grown mainly in the south of the country, in regions such as Mbeya.
















From Bean to Bar


The cocoa pods are picked off the trees on smallholder farms when they're ripe.


















The beans are removed from the pods and are laid out to ferment.


















The beans are then hand-sorted in the warehouse.


















The beans are bagged and weighed.


















The sacks are labelled, ready to be shipped.


















The village data is all compiled and records are kept.
